It’s a compact, soil‑dwelling springtail species from the Hypogastruridae family, known for steady movement, short jumps, and excellent performance as a bioactive cleanup crew. The yellow morph is entirely captive‑bred and does not occur naturally, making it a visually striking option for terrariums, isopod enclosures, and standalone cultures.
 
In culture, this morph thrives in consistently damp substrates such as organic soil, clay, or sphagnum blends, with leaf litter or egg carton providing structure. It feeds readily on mold, fungi, decaying plant matter, and small portions of fish food or rice, and benefits from a calcium source like cuttlebone. Temperatures between 22–26°C support strong reproduction, though the species remains stable across typical UK household conditions. Overall, C. isabellae ‘Yellow’ is easy to maintain, moderately prolific, and valued for both its utility and its bright, attractive appearance.
