Trachythorax albomaculatus is a beautifully subtle stick insect from the cool, misty forests of central Vietnam. Its soft brown colouring and delicate white spots give it a gentle, speckled look, making it a wonderfully camouflaged species that blends naturally into fresh foliage. It’s calm, steady, and elegant — a species that rewards quiet observation and suits keepers who enjoy something refined rather than flashy.
 
In nature, this insect comes from the Kon Chu Rang rainforest, a mountain region with fresh airflow, regular moisture, and filtered light. These conditions translate very well into captivity: it prefers comfortable, cooler room temperatures, good humidity, and plenty of ventilation. With the right setup, it settles quickly and shows reliable feeding and growth.
 
Because it’s a recently described species, it doesn’t yet have a widely used common name. White‑Spotted Stick Insectreflects both its appearance and the meaning of its scientific name.
