Dicronorhina derbyana conradsi is a dazzling subspecies of Derby’s flower beetle, native to East Africa, particularly Tanzania. It’s instantly recognizable by its deep maroon body with a subtle blue sheen and tan stripes across the elytra. Males sport a flat, T-shaped horn used in mating displays and territorial skirmishes, while females are slightly smaller and hornless. Like others in the genus, they feed on tree sap and ripe fruits, and their larvae thrive in decaying plant matter.
