Diapherodes gigantea is a vibrant, lime-green stick insect native to the tropical forests of the Lesser Antilles, particularly Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. Females are impressively large and robust, often reaching lengths of 15 cm or more, while males are slimmer and more agile. Their vivid coloration provides excellent camouflage among fresh foliage, and their calm, slow-moving nature makes them easy to observe. In captivity, they thrive on bramble, guava, and other broadleaf plants, requiring warm temperatures and moderate humidity to support healthy growth and moulting.
