Lissachatina fulica “Jadatzi” is a beautifully coloured Giant African Land Snail known for its creamy white body and warm yellow‑to‑honey shell, often with soft caramel banding. It’s a gentle, hardy, beginner‑friendly snail that thrives on simple care and makes a striking addition to any collection.
The Jadatzi colouration comes from a selective genetic line within L. fulica. Breeders noticed individuals with lighter skin tones and reduced melanin, paired with shells showing enhanced yellow pigments rather than the usual darker browns. Over many generations, these traits were stabilised, producing snails with the clean, bright look that defines the Jadatzi form. The colour is inherited, not diet‑dependent, and remains consistent throughout the snail’s life.
Jadatzi fulica grow quickly, reaching 10–15 cm in shell length, and are calm, slow‑moving animals that tolerate handling well. They enjoy leafy greens, vegetables, and a steady calcium supply to support healthy shell growth. As with all fulica, they can produce large clutches of eggs, so responsible egg management is essential.
