Females are particularly robust, reaching lengths of up to 25 cm, while males are slimmer and more agile. This species thrives in warm, humid environments and feeds on a variety of host plants including eucalyptus, acacia, and guava. With its impressive size, vibrant hues, and slow, deliberate movements, E. versiruba stands out as one of the most visually commanding phasmids in captivity.
