Tirachoidea jianfenglingensis is a colossal stick insect species native to the rainforests of Vietnam and southern China. Adult females can exceed 30 cm in length when measured from the abdomen to the tips of their outstretched forelegs, making them among the largest phasmids in culture. Despite their size, they are masters of camouflage, often remaining motionless among branches where their elongated, twig-like bodies blend seamlessly into the foliage. Nymphs begin life in shades of green and undergo striking color changes as they mature. This sexually reproducing species is winged but flightless, and its sheer scale and elegant stillness make it a standout in any serious phasmid collection.
