Typopeltis quangxiensis is a shy, nocturnal vinegaroon from the humid forests of Guangxi in southern China. It spends its life tucked beneath leaf litter, stones, and fallen wood, where the environment stays warm and consistently moist. With a dark, flattened body around 4–5 cm and an elegant whip‑like tail, it’s a species built for navigating tight spaces and sensing the world through touch and vibration.

In the enclosure, this species thrives when its natural habitat is closely replicated. A deep, humid substrate, plenty of secure hides, and gentle warmth help maintain stability and support healthy moulting. Good airflow is important too, preventing stagnant conditions while still retaining moisture. They feed readily on small invertebrate prey and generally remain calm and slow‑moving, making them a fascinating but low‑drama addition to a collection.

For keepers, the key is consistency: avoid letting the enclosure dry out, don’t overcrowd, and offer prey that’s appropriately sized. When those basics are met, T. quangxiensis settles well and can live for many years, rewarding you with its steady behaviour and unique, understated charm.
