Albino Achatina reticulata is a rare and visually striking morph of one of the largest African land snail species. Unlike the typical reticulata, which sports a dark body and heavily textured shell, the albino variant features a pale, creamy-white body paired with a shell that retains the species’ characteristic ridged pattern—often in lighter, golden or ivory tones. Native to East Africa, these snails can reach up to 20 cm in length and are known for their robust growth and appetite. In the wild, A. reticulata plays a role in decomposing organic matter and enriching soil, though albino forms are almost exclusively found in captivity due to their reduced camouflage and sensitivity to light. They thrive in warm, humid enclosures with deep substrate for burrowing and a calcium-rich diet to support their impressive shell development.
